I did it!

I'm happy to report that I made the little bean bags I was hoping to get sewn up today!
Last night they were a pile of randomly selected fabrics.
During the day I was wondering how I was going to get around the fact that I had no wheat nor rice to fill them with!!
Plan A was to ask my son to get me a bag of wheat on the way home from work - but I knew he had other jobs to do...Luckily I came up with a
Plan B - to hunt out our wheat bags (for aches and pains) and use the wheat in them for my small bags.
There was just enough wheat in the two bags to fill these six ones - whew!
Once they were filled, a few pins, a zipper foot and sewing them up.
Chain piecing bean bags. Hehe I know; as a teacher used to say, Small Things amuse Small Minds :-)

Second side -
Hopefully Lily and George will have some fun playing with these. It may be my one and only handmade Christmas gift but there are six of them so that's not too bad is it?!
As it's Christmas Eve tonight, that's 24 days of non-stop blogging for my 31 day blog writing challenge, and fun fun it's Christmas tomorrow!
I've stayed up late doing a few kitchen/food things to make tomorrow a little more relaxing.

I hope you and those dear to you have a very Merry Christmas.

'til next time,
happy stitches,

  2. Your bags are adorable. I bet the kids play more with them than the big, pricy packages. They will probably use the boxes for a bean bag toss. Sounds like fun! Merry Christmas!

  11. Clever way to find what you needed to fill the bean bags!! I probably would have found some dry beans to fill them with. The kids will absolutely love them and they'll have a blast playing with them!! Maybe when you fill your comfort bags again, you can put in some lavender to create a relaxing smell to go along with the warmth of the bag!! Have a blessed Christmas with your family!!
