A Christmas Sew Along

Have you seen the latest sew along by the Temecula Quilt Company?
It's called Tiny Tree and looks to be a series of tiny blocks arranged into a tree shape - a Christmas tree of course!
I've sat on my hands all year, not joining in with any of the great projects I've seen online but I've decided now is the time to crumple :-)
There are two weeks of 2¼" blocks, a different one each day.
All it needs is a pile of scrappy greens and a little background fabric. That I can do.
Here's the first one —
This post is my 5th for my 31 day blog writing challenge. Thank you so much for following along and cheering me on ♥
Read all about the challenge here on Cheryl Sleboda's blog.

'til next time,

  3. Day 5: Well done Raewyn! Keep it up!
Thanks for the link, I especially love fellowship stars, and the smaller the better! Not saying I’ll get time to make one, tee hee, but I’ll be tempted! Already considering ..... do I have any greens suitable? Oh, oh, yes I do .....
    Smiles,
    Barbara xx

  4. Woohoo Day 5! I think, when I slow down for a bit I will do the tiny tree too. Super simple, and so cute.

  5. I was going to do one of her follow along's last year and saved the patterns to do this year and totally forgot about them - I need to look through my patterns saved and organize and plan out next year better - but then something else comes along and I never get to the planned!

  6. I have been ignoring all those sew-a-long's too. I also crumpled when I saw this one. Oh yes, I decided to make 6 of them as gifts! Must be a little nuts but who can resist a tiny tree. I can't wait to see how sweet yours will be!

  7. Thanks for visiting my blog. It's been awhile since I've posted or read blogs and I was so excited to see you there. I had to laugh when you hoped you wouldn't run out of this to say because that's exactly what I've been hoping. I love your block you're doing with Temecula. I keep putting it off, but I really want to do it. Maybe you've inspired me to try. Looking forward to reading your posts for the 31 day challenge.

  9. Now now just because you did not participate in sew-alongs does not mean that you have been sitting on your ass all year :-p I rarely do those sew-alongs because I am too much of a control freak. I wish you good luck in your sew along as well as your 31-day blogging challenge.

  10. Cute block using the scraps--I would like to do these too--
but--I will be behind to do them and wonder is I will have enough
different fabric (shades of greens really) to make it--
    time will tell--
    luv,di

  14. I've started doing the tiny tree too... and am wondering whether the background should be green? I'm imagining this one sits on top, so would have background around it... but what about block 2?

  15. I saw it, and I've even saved it, because I'm crazy that way, but I know I'm never making a 2-3/4" unfinished block. Life is too short. LOL

  18. I’m looking forward to seeing your tree grow. Such tiny blocks. Now is not the time for me to join in any new stitch alongs. Maybe early next year?
