Day 19 of Block a Day December

Another Christmas block, but not as you know it —
I was excited to see this block design as I thought it could work in well with the others I am doing. It is by Heather of The Sewing Loft. It was offered for free on her blog but there is now a small charge for it.
Here it is with the first two blocks I have made for my scrappy Christmas quilt —

And, would you know it, while I was sewing this block, another one appeared - yes leader-enders win again and I have another Omigosh! block to add to my tally!

Sewing my blocks was first on the list this morning as I had a travelling day. My sister and I met in Auckland and Mum hopped from her car to mine - hehe - we met approx halfway between Mum's (and my sister's) and our place so that Mum can spend a few weeks up here with our family. Actually it worked quite well; we met at an Aunty and Uncle's place for a cuppa. Both are quite elderly now so it was nice to spend a little time with them. And then it was back into the car for the 3 hour trip home! It will be nice to have Mum here over Christmas.

'til next time,
happy stitches,

  8. That is a sweet little teddy bear tree ornament. A perfect addition to your ornament blocks.
How nice that your Mom can be with you for Christmas. I won't have to drive nearly that long to bring my Mom here for Christmas--my brother lives less than 15 minutes away. I don't think my Mom would agree to coming for that long of a ride. :)
Your Omigosh blocks get me every time. Love it!
