Keeping Company

Today found me babbling to the bees —
Talking to the Tractors —

Prepping a poodle —
Querying a Quiltshop —
(Sorry, I couldn't think of another Q word!)
(I prepped enough evening hand stitching to last the week.)
What's more, we had neighbours raiding the orchard —
Feijoa time - yum
And I had a lovely cyber-style catch-up with Mum and my siblings (we're dragging mum into the modern communication world!).

For today's walk I went over the road and up the hill, climbing further than usual —
Northland is looking so dry!
Went as far as the beehives.
The MOML was shifting the cows to a fresh paddock and silage.

'til next time,
safe and happy stitches,

  1. Great photos today..you have a nice open place to take your walks...
We look out of our window at the "Top of the Hill" here on our cul-de-sac and see: No traffic at all. Most days it is pretty sparse to begin with, but now it's non-existent...which is a good thing "During this time of corona virus"...

Stay safe --oh, I've always wondered: do you "Tell the bees" when things happen? I've read about that a lot (???)

  2. you sure have a lot of hives. My brother the farmer who lives about 25 miles from me started some hives a couple years ago - this year I need to get some honey from him as he started to produce that last year and now knows what he is doing with it. I wish I had those hills to walk in - ours are too thick with trees and brush!

  5. I also 'talk' to things all the time--guess it is just 'part' of living alone for me--
at least that is my 'story' and I will stick to it!! and they say talking to 'things' is ok--but if they answer you it's time to 'see' someone--so don't tell anyone--but once in awhile one does tell me things--usually an answer to something I am looking for!!!!! or a new idea--have to watch those new ideas though--sometime they get me into trouble!!!!!!!
love all the photos and those 'thieves' in the orchard are 'cute' theieves at least!!
    love, di

  13. A busy day for you, I love your tractors! Are the hives yours Raewyn? We had three feijoa trees at our other house years ago, everyone else in the family loves them but I don't.
