I just did a little sewing today - I had a bit of spare time this afternoon. I wasn't really sure where to start (Which one that's on my list?) so chose to spend a little time on some scrappy sewing.
Two more Churndashes for my Omigosh quilt. In the light or bright blue of this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge colour —
And I did finish the little bunny bags just in time for visitors raiding the orchard —
They didn't gather many feijoas today!
(Ganma was a bit slack with the Easter Eggs this year, with all this lockdown business I forgot to stock up but we managed to find enough to satisfy the odd sweet tooth!)
I went on a flat walk today, over the bridge and turning right to the corner of the farm.

The river on my right and the climbing hills on my left |
In the end paddock where the river takes turns a corner there is this small stand of trees, mostly Totara.
They've been around a while but it's sad to see the big old Karaka dying (too dry?) —
(Can you see a bit of flood debris in one of the trees below?!)
Good to see quite a few Karaka seedlings coming up though in an area the stock don't graze —
Another one of those trees I think should never have survived!
Under the bridge, in the river. I really feel it needs a good flood to clean it all out!
I hope you were able to celebrate Easter in some way today. I found it a very odd day.
I apologise to those who have commented whom I haven't replied to yet. I do appreciate your visits and comments and I hope to catch up soon. Likewise with reading your blogs and news.
Thinking of you all and hoping that you are all safe and well,
'til next time,
happy stitches,
Gorgeous bunny bags. Looks like a lot of fun was had with them.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful bags. I'm sure the orchard thieves were happy to find them.
ReplyDeleteLove your Omigosh blocks.
The bunny bags were a cute idea for the grands. I completely forgot to get chocolates before the isolation so my grands are deprived this year. Oh well, I'll bake chocolate cookies this week, I have plenty of cocoa. Hope you get some rain this fall!
ReplyDeleteNice wee RSC blocks to add to your Omigosh project.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the kids loved there rabbits and sure they got plenty of eggs...
Good to see the new seedlings growing and the river does look like it needs a good flush.
how long do you walk for every day? do you know your mileage? I am trying for 2-3 short walks each day as I just can't keep going round and round the property for more than 4-7 laps or it will drive me crazy! I am only doing about half the normal exercise that I did before :(
ReplyDeleteI really like the OMG quilt - it's on my list
I love the Rainbow scrap block. Where can I get the directions for I?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely day in NZ. Thanks for posting
Lovely blocks,

Beautiful blocks and bunny bags, so exciting for the twins. I hope you get some rain very soon and that the river gets a good clean out. Good to see Emma dog coming walking with you.
ReplyDeleteLove both the blocks and the bunny bags. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteLove the bunny bags, is that unbleached linen they are made from?
