Word Association

We all know about word associations —
Bread .... and ....butter
Needle .... and ... thread
Fish ... and ... chips
Cats ... and ...dogs
Roses ... and ...aphids

So what goes with Wednesday....yes... you got it...flowers! And specifically, One Flower Wednesday.
That's why when I got up this morning I started thinking hexies...
I haven't progressed much further on my gmg quilt since this post for OFW (blame Christmas-etc-for that!) but I've been thinking I would like to have a play with our New Zealand Kiwiana fabrics...
The lovely melodic Tui in the beautiful Pohutukawa trees.
Visit more hexie gardens via lovely host Karen's blog, Journey of a Quilter.

Also today I've been having a bit of a play with my new toy. Can you guess what it is?
-he he, a label maker. These are my buckets of scraps all carefully colour-coded. (Ready for more house-building). These are empty honey buckets, the MOML gets through a couple of these a year having honey on his toast every morning; I really need to start cooking him more toast as I still have yellows, purples and blacks waiting for a bucket!
And I'm sure this happens in most homes when a new toy like this appears —
Poor little guy doesn't even know he's been tagged!
Have a great day everyone and happy stitching :-)

  4. I remember going a bit nuts with a label maker at work years ago. They are fun.
Can you remember the old plastic tape ones that you had to indent the letters into the tape? They were horrible as was hard to get consistent pressure, and very hard on the hands.
    Love the new ones though.

  6. You're a hoot! I love your flower, but I don't love that you're a day ahead, because I always think I forgot my flowers! But it's only Tuesday here, so I'm okay.

  7. Step away from the label maker!

  8. You are going to have to keep that new toy somewhere safe. Please tell me you won't put labels on EVERYTHING will you? I hope you don't turn up to work one day with one on yourself!

  9. Enjoyed reading your post.
    Great flower.Love the middle hexie.
These "Little Houses" have a lot to answer to. I had to buy a BIGGER plastic tub so I could rumage through my scraps better. Not as organised as you to colour code buckets.

    Poor Oscer-Riley. LOL
