February is usually a month of sneaky sewing for me (well, it starts earlier than February but this is when the pressure goes on!) as we prepare for the launch of our new projects for The Country Yard, where I work. Which means I usually have little to share here.
I committed to a couple of projects to make at home. Hmmm, maybe I can show a few sneaky peaks —
While I have been sewing up a storm I have been doing a bit of leader and ender sewing and have accumulated a nice pile of 4-patches —
Which are becoming bigger blocks —Yes, I have jumped on the Quiltville (Bonnie Hunter) Leader-Ender challenge called Triple Treat. As I have a lot of 2" squares left over from my Smidgeon project, I am making my blocks using those. Bonnie's used 1 ½" squares, so my blocks end up bigger but I hoping the end result will be just as effective as hers.
I called in to ED's yesterday after work. She has got a garden she is, justifiably, proud of, and the two smalls picked me a bunch of Dahlias and Zinnias to bring home. Beautiful!
And I've started up my daily walks/ hill climbs again, which I am enjoying a lot. YD's two 4-legged boys had a sleepover last night so I took them and Emma out with me this morning.
It was a lovely start to the day —
The top of the back hill —
On the way back down again there was a traffic jam. Luckily the boys waited patiently for the cow to cross the bridge —
'til next time,
happy stitches,
You have been busy in the sewing room. The leader and ender quilt will be effective. The dogs were well behaved.

ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely place to walk and your dogs are well behaved too. Our dogs were always terrified of the cows and ran away from them. Happy stitching!

So many lovely blocks and I liked the fabrics you used.
ReplyDeleteYour leader and ended blocks will grow into a great scrappy quilt.
Such a gorgeous walk at you place . The dogs were very good . I’m sure our Lacy would have chased the poor cows.
Can see why your YD is proud of her garden . The flowers are beautiful.
There are some gorgeous fabrics in your sneak peeks!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your walks and those lovely flowers.
What beautiful projects for The Country Yard, not a one I wouldn't enjoy. The butterfly especially caught my eye. I look forward to seeing each one develop! I'm hoping to get back to the patterns I bought from you that you mailed on your visit to the US, pre-covid. I know exactly where they are ... pretty amazing all on its own!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your walk views. Such a beautiful, blessed countryside where you live and work. My owls out in the woods were noisy about the time I was reading your post, and those sounds got mixed in with your views and made it even nicer. =)
Nice blocks and the petals look pretty. Good to get out for a walk with friends, and patient ones at that! xx
ReplyDeleteSo many fun blocks! You’ve enjoyed your sewing time. Those leader ender blocks are going to make a great quilt. I love the chains they will create. The dahlias and zinnias are so pretty. It’s nice to have four legged companions for that beautiful walk.
