Flowers and pets, mostly...

Gosh over a week has passed since my last post. It's been busy around here but I don't have very much to show for it.
Today is Wednesday, One Flower Wednesday in fact. I'm happy to have made a couple of new hexies; I haven't done any for a little while but I do enjoy them so much. I'm still with my NZ theme and this week I made a slightly smaller one too.
(Again the Tui graces my post. He also showed up  last post)
I've also made a couple more sewing pouches, similar to the one I made here. I had fun making the spool blocks for the bigger one, and really love the look they give it.

Spring is definitely in the air here, (although there is a bit of a nasty spell of weather happening down country at the moment) and the Magnolia tree has been looking -and smelling- wonderful. It's really starting to get some height on it now.
Check out the lovely blue sky!
The spring weather seems to have really affected the animals. Yesterday I caught Timmie practising her hunting skills.....
BEFORE shot....
...AFTER shot
These birds are an easy catch :-)
(The grey bird block she is hunting is another I have tested for Juliet of Tartankiwi. More about it another time.) (Judging by the size of Timmie in these photos I really think it best she sticks to hunting fabric birds and not the real thing!!)

In spite of the spring weather, Oscar-Riley was feeling a little chilly and decided he really liked my Temecula Baskets quilt.
Now I know why I  make small quilts....
A perfect fit :-)
Thank you for visiting, happy stitching, and have a lovely day,

Love your Kiwi themed hexies and those pouches are just gorgeous. Timmie is not so daft. Finding a way to hunt in the comfort of you own home is quite a feat. How nice of you to provide her with a suitable selection of prey. Oscar-Riley is so cute under his new blanket think he'll be a bit upset when you claim it back! Hugs....

Nice NZ flowers to add to your others.
Gorgeous pouches and I like the fabric you used on them as well as the wee spool.
Love the photos of the cat stalking your beautiful fabric pieced birds and Oscar/Riley looks very smart in that cute mini..

Nice pouches--they look very handy!
Timmie is too funny--reliving glory days of being trim and able to catch those flighty birds!
And the photos of your pooch wearing the basket quilt--LOL!
Great post, Raewyn!

So nice bird hexies again. I grinned when I saw your cat with the bird blogs and the dog under the quilt.

Hi Raewyn... Timmie is funny, & your little doggie loves a blanket just like mine does!
Beautiful hexy flowers again, what are you going to make with them?

Beautiful creations Raewyn ... I especially love your sewing pouches. The photos of your cat & dog are very funny ... sometimes you just have to grab the camera to record those moments. Thats the great thing about blogging ... we otherwise would not bother & so, never have that record of our beloved pets "doing their thing". Hugs, Julie

What fun hexies!! Love, love the NZ theme!! You know I love flower photos!! And the magnolia is a great one! Seems "funny" that spring is in the air!! We've got a touch of fall in ours!! We've been enjoying being outside after the hot summer days.

The pets are soooo cute!!! I love that Timmie - knows what kind of thing to hunt!! LOL!!

How are the calves? Cows? It has been awhile since we chatted - hope you have time to catch me up!!

Hugs my sweet dear friend!

Hee hee, love the hunting photos!
Better that he hunts fabric birds than real native birds :-)

I haven't got to my pouches yet, maybe this weekend?
Gee you furry friends rule the roost!

Is your cat for real - or did you hide some cat treats under the blocks?? Dogs are so much better behaved aren't they?? Oscar-Riley looks very proud of himself with his finery.

Always nice to see hexies. I must make some also, if I find the time, they are lovely to make. Nice pouches, too. Ah, what a pity for Timmie the birds aren't real, and Oscar is a real model, love the Temecula quilt and the sashings are so nice!
Love, Cisca

Gosh, you've been so productive! I feel like a slug, lol. I have been busy but I don't have many completed projects. I want to make some of those little bags, they are awesome! The hexie birds are wonderful and I can't wait to see what you end up doing with them.
