We had a wide range of costumes...from deep and meaningful to last minute scrapping together of some accessories, and everything in between.
The table and room were decorated appropriately and we all had a good time seeing what everyone's interpretation of the theme was.
Made by Brenda-
I made a Gum leaf and a gumnut beanie for my dress up. Sue, being a bird lover, made a dress out of Australian bird fabric. They were eating Pavlova and other popular Australian foods!
Here we are with Sylvia (from Germany) with her kangaroo pouch, 'cuppa tea', snake, mouse....and so much more!
We had a hilarious imitation of Kath and Kim by Harriet and Tina.....Australians and NZers will know remember the TV series-
We had the deep blue sky, freedom, a stockman, the Sydney Harbour Bridge and many more. As you can tell, there were loads of photos I didn't get!
Ok, that's it for this morning,
'til next time,
happy stitches,
Raewyn
How fun and fabulous!
ReplyDeleteHow funny - I wouldn't know what a gumnut was and had to google! looks like you are having a wonderful time and you still have the 2 day journey back to the airport!!

ReplyDeleteIt was so good to see everyone play a part!
ReplyDeleteI thought Sylvia was very clever - but Gail was the most inventive as she had left home before she knew the theme...
Looks like such a lot of fun. xx
ReplyDeleteIt was such a laugh to everyone’s costume. A great night.
ReplyDeletehi there from Maine
ReplyDeleteWhat fun, everyone all dressed up and having a ball! I remember Kath and Kim, so outrageously Aussie that I just had to watch them. Did you girls have a discussion on which country invented the Pavlova first? You know it was New Zealand, of course!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for an activity! I love seeing all these costumes, so creative ... I guess to be expected from an international group of quilters like that.
ReplyDeleteWhat good fun...love all the interpretations....you and Sue did well xx
