Time

Would someone be able to tell me where the days, weeks, months and this year are going?!! They are all merging into one!! Whew, I cant keep up!
Lately, it's been...
...time to start Chateau Hexagon, Lynette Anderson's latest button mystery.
Cute so far.....
Light wasn't so good - it doesn't look as washed out in real life!!
Aren't the buttons just gorgeous?!

...time for more hexie-flowers and One Flower Wednesday
More of my NZ themed flowers
Thank you Karen, for hosting One Flower Wednesday. Please click HERE to visit other OFW stitchers.

...time for birthday gifts for friends...
I started these a few posts ago, but have now  finished them :-)
I made the pin cushions using the tutorial found here.

...time for a NEW DISCOVERY!!! I was so excited to discover that I can crochet away in the car for hours on end and not get CAR-SICK!!! If I've ever tried stitching etc in the car before I've had to take travel-sickness tablets but not this time :-)
This is a wrap I started quite a few years ago. It was my horse-truck project... when the girls were competing at horse events every weekend, we spent many evenings in the horse truck with limited lighting and amenities. It was a useful way to spend the evening while the girls were busy cleaning horsey gear or learning riding tests.
Anyway, back to the present, the MOML and I had a few days away recently (yes, the best time for dairy farmers to go on holiday is winter when there are no cows to milk) and there were 4 balls of wool left when we set out - 4 days later and 3/4 hour away from home again I had them all used up and the wrap was completed!!
[Time to tidy up the ends :-)]

Straight forward pattern meant I didn't have to look at it
all the time - meaning a happy traveller.

...time for photos... this is a cool photo I took recently - have no idea how I got the effect but I quite like it!
Now it's time to get back to some sewing :-)
Wishing you all nice sunshine or cosy fires, where-ever you may be!
Thank you for visiting, see you next time,

A lovely post Raewyn. The button mystery is very cute, love the background fabric. Excellent flowers and I just may have to make that beautiful pincushion!

I know what you mean, this year is just flying. I love your pincushions, very effective design. You are so lucky to be able to crochet in the car. Your wrap is gorgeous.

What cute stitchery--love that birdhouse button!
Great Cathedral Windows pincushions. Maybe one day I will get up my courage to try that.
Looks like a beautiful wrap you are making. Every one of my kids used to get carsick reading or doing any handwork in a car. One year, after they were all older, we took a long car trip and they all discovered they could read without getting sick. Seems silly now, but I remember how excited they all were at the time.
Gorgeous photo of the rosebud!

When you find out where the time has gone, can you let me know? I love your wrap. I'm usually not a big fan of crochet, but I think this is gorgeous. And your pincushions are so sweet.

Oh, what great projects! The buttons are adorable. What are you going to do with the NZ flowers? They are so cute. I LOVE the pin cushions! I'm so glad you posted the link. I haven't used the walnut shells yet and I want to try one of those.

Your wrap is so pretty. I can hand quilt, crochet, and knit in the car as long as I don't have to follow a pattern too closely. I'm planning my project now for our trip up to get Tessa in August.

You've been so busy!

Great minds think alike! I am stitching on Lynette Anderson's Fernhill BOM this morning, that includes her cute little buttons! It adds so much to the little quilt! Great post to read and see!

Lovely block and pincushions!
I discovered that I can knit in a car without getting car-sick (but can't read or stitch!) so it's a big relief :)

Just beautiful stitching Raewyn - love those birdhouses in the first pic. Also your hexie flowers are beautiful. I went & looked at that tutorial for the pincushions & they look amazing & not too difficult either. Think I will have a go - great stitching weather down here lately :-)

Hi Raewyn, what a great post... that's great that you have been able to conquer the car sickness - now we know what you will taking on road trips in the future!!

I am joining in with Chateau Hexagon but so far have only just looked at the bag of goodies. Must make a start. Yours looks good. Love your kiwiana hexes and that rosebud looks beautiful. I managed to sew some hexes on a car journey before car sickness took over. Might try crochet ne t time.

Oh what a show you put on! Those buttons are cute, but seriously the stitching behind them is just so gorgeous. Love it. The fussy centers make me smile on those hexie flowers. And I just ADORE those pin cushions!!

Very cute stitching, Raewyn. I didn't even notice that was a button at first. Love your NZ themed flowers. OFW is a great way to do it. I just pinned the tutorial for the cathedral window pin cushion. Thanks! I wish I could stitch without looking. I'm never confident enough! Looks like you had no problem. Your wrap is beautiful. As is the flower bud. Well done!
