I'm happy to be amongst the bloggers involved in promoting Terersa Mairal Barreu's new book, Turnabout Patchwork.
Teresa's had fun using simple and traditional (with a twist) blocks.
They're sewn up, cut up, turned about and sewn up again.
There's lots of different configurations and it's quite fun to play around like this. Of course, the colours and fabrics used give even more options.
Did I mention it would be a great book for the newer quilter?
My project was Flying Butterflies, using the Modern Shoofly block.
I thought this pattern would make a pretty girl's quilt and because I had a few pretties sitting in my scrap bin, decided a scrappy style one would be perfect.
So I got busy;
Sewing up —
cutting up —
turning about —
and sewing back together again.
My finished top —
I was really pleased with how quickly this top came together - it was nice to have a project that didn't take forever to make!I'm thinking of heading back to the cutting board and making one more row (as Teresa had suggested in the book!), just to make it a bit more of a useful size.
And now for the fun part - the giveaways!
If you'd like to win an electronic copy of Turnabout Patchwork simply leave me a comment on this post. If you are a no-reply commenter, please make sure your email address is included in your comment.
AND... Teresa has offered one of her digital patterns for a second giveaway! If you'd like one of these, visit her pattern shop *here* then let me know which one is your favourite. I'll do a second drawing for this prize. There are several there I've got my eye on :-)
If you're wanting to buy a copy of Turnabout Patchwork, you can buy it through Teresa's shop *here*.
